Download headers and footers

If you want to display the same text at the top or bottom of every page of a document, you can use a header or footer

  • Text (or graphics) displayed in the header area appears at the top of each page
    • HINT - if you are designing a company letterhead and saving it as a template, put the company address in the main body of the template and put the company logo in the header area.  That way, the address will only be displayed on the first page of your documents, but the company logo will appear on every page.
  • Text (or graphics) displayed in the footer area appears at the bottom of each page
  • You can use the footer (or header) display a range of information about the document.  Often there are autotext options to help you display information such as date created, number of pages, page number, filename, etc.
